Cognitive Government

Date: 30th Nov 2016

Venue: Household Cavalry Museum, Horse Guards, Whitehall, London SW1A 2AX

Welcome to the era of cognitive computing. After e-government and digital government comes cognitive government, an artificial intelligence-based solution deployed to simulate human thought processes to better research, extract, analyse and act on data.

Deployed correctly, cognitive technologies will allow central government organisations to expedite and transform the use of intelligence, overcoming barriers that have led to siloed bureaucracies and that have left unstructured data untapped.
Hear IBM’s experts make the case for cognitive computing and how it can be applied to central government, empowering civil servants, policy makers and politicians alike to improve citizen-facing services. Find out how ministries around the world have begun using the technology and why – when many administrations are still wrestling with digital transformation – cognitive ought to become a business imperative.

To examine some of these issues, CBR is holding a dinner in London on November 30th in association with IBM. We’ll discuss how cognitive technologies can best be adopted by Government departments, and will examine the benefits this approach can bring.

All of this takes place in the historic Household Cavalry Museum, a living museum in the heart of Horse Guards, Whitehall, which includes a working stables. Guests will learn about the history of the Household Cavalry, which comprises the two senior regiments in the British Army – The Life Guards and the Blues and Royals. These regiments have the unique role of providing Her Majesty The Queen’s mounted bodyguard on State and ceremonial occasions, but are also on active service in conflicts all over the world. Their fascinating history, dating back to the restoration of King Charles II in 1660, is manifested by a dazzling array of uniforms, arms, pictures and rare artefacts, all showcased in the magnificent mid-18th century stables.

It promises to be a great evening, with lively debate in an unique and exclusive setting. Attendance is entirely free of charge but spaces are limited, so please register today.

We look forward to welcoming you.
