Global enterprises are rapidly adopting public and private cloud infrastructures as part of their business critical IT architecture. The harmonious interworking of these two options gave rise to the term ‘Hybrid Cloud’. According to Gartner, 75% of large enterprises expect to have hybrid deployments by 2015.
To efficiently support these combined public and private resources, the network itself needs to go ‘hybrid’, combining the strengths of the highly reliable VPNs, with the ubiquity, price, and speed of the Internet.
The advantages of this anytime, anywhere computing – increased productivity, greater agility and enhanced flexibility – can only be realised if complexity can be managed; especially when you consider that 62 per cent of employees work in more than one location.
The reality is that today’s networks combine cloud – private, public and hybrid – as well as more conventional point-to-point links, ATM frame relay networks and those using the MPLS protocol. That requires rethinking your networking strategy. It means thinking beyond the hybrid cloud, hybrid devices and hybrid networking and thinking about what might be termed the ‘hybrid enterprise’.
In the course of this CBR Dining Club event, in association with network and application performance specialist Riverbed, you will have the opportunity to discuss the future of the hybrid enterprise, to tease out the issues that are facing today’s IT departments in a world of mobility, and quiz the Riverbed team about products and services.
