For today’s enterprise IT department, managing the technology stack and handling the throughput of applications at an accelerated rate is a time consuming and potentially daunting task. Estimates suggest that up to 80% of budget and time is taken up by managing the stack. It’s little surprise, therefore, that smart senior IT professionals have changed their approach to infrastructure management, embracing virtualisation and convergence.
And now comes hyperconvergence, a software-defined software platform that packages core data center services – storage, network and server – so they can be managed from a single application. Distinct from conventional convergence, hyperconvergence breaks down the silos of storage and compute, bringing infrastructure operations and systems hardware together at the hypervisor level. The potential benefits are many and varied: increased workload throughput, centralised management of complex infrastructure and greater efficiency among them.
In this wide-ranging CBR Dining Club event, in association with HPE, we will discuss the fundamentals of hyperconvergence, its merits and how it can be integrated into an existing infrastructure approach. We’ll also hear from expert voices from HPE in the wake of the company’s acquisition of SimpliVity, the second-placed hyperconverged infrastructure appliance startup, earlier this year.
So do join us at the Ivy City Garden for what promises to be an enlightening evening of discussion and dining.
