Date: 12th Mar 2020
Venue: The Great John Street Hotel , Great John Street , Manchester M3 4FD
The CBR Dining Club comes to Manchester in the fabulous setting of this old Victorian school house , now one of Manchester's most luxurious venues.
With businesses continuing to struggle to manage their data in a multi-cloud world, failing to gain full value from it in the process, this evening of fine food and great debate could not come at a better time . As a Harvard Business Review report recently observed, organisations are using less than half of the structured data they own to inform decision making. When it comes to unstructured data, that figure falls to less than 1%.
It is a troubling state of affairs and reflects the challenge most organisations face today: ‘How do we get value from our data?’, ‘What can we do to monetise it?’, and – most simply – ‘How do we put our data to work?’
In an effort to address these fundamental questions, CBR is hosting a specially-convened Dining Club event in association with Hitachi Vantara. During the evening, we will discuss the benefits of DataOps, the emerging methodology designed to improve the quality of – and speed of access to – data analytics.
You will hear from industry experts including Peter Jackson, CDO Legal & General and co-author of ‘The Chief Data Officer’s Playbook’ and ‘Data-Driven Business Transformation’ on the key challenges faced by CDO’s. Plus a different perspective on data-driven transformation from Keith Howells, who will talk about the importance of high integrity data in delivering business results, drawing on his experience as a Chief Design Engineer at Rolls Royce. Hitachi Vantara speakers will wrap this up by making the case for DataOps & discussing how Hitachi has helped customers in creating a data-driven business.
This is an essential event for anyone charged with managing or overseeing their organisations data. It promises to be an evening of insightful conversations, actionable insights, fine dining and rewarding networking. Do join us for what promises to be an exceptional evening.
